https://ejournal.gomit.id/abdigermas/article/view/693

Background: Child stunting remains a critical global health and development issue with profound long-term consequences.
Aims: This study aims to analyze the application of the hexahelix collaboration model in the stunting prevention program in Rancakalong District, Sumedang Regency, Indonesia.
Methods: A qualitative case study approach was used to identify and analyze six key helices: Government, Community, Private Sector, Academics, Media, and Policy. The research examines the roles, contributions, and interactions of these six actors within a single, integrated framework to address the multi-causal nature of stunting.
Results: The analysis reveals a novel conceptualization of Policy as a distinct, foundational helix that acts as the primary governance structure. Findings show that a layered, synchronized policy framework from the national to the village level facilitates the integration of diverse stakeholder efforts. The collaboration leverages technological innovation (e.g., the SIMPATI application), community-based action rooted in local wisdom, strategic private-sector partnerships, and evidence-based input from academia. The media's role in public education and social accountability further strengthens the model's effectiveness. Data indicates a significant decrease in stunting prevalence in Rancakalong from 27.61% in 2017 to 7.59% in 2025.
Conclusion: These findings demonstrate that a well-defined policy helix can mitigate common challenges in multi-actor interventions. The hexahelix model provides a replicable empirical framework for tackling complex public health issues in developing contexts.
Cece MulyadiBintarsih SekarningrumDeni Kurniadi SunjayaR. https://ejournal.gomit.id/abdigermas/article/view/735

Background: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus remains a major global health problem that requires effective self-management to prevent complications. Poor blood glucose management behavior, unhealthy dietary patterns, and inadequate stress management may worsen patients’ conditions. Educational interventions using audiovisual media, such as animated videos, have the potential to improve patients’ understanding and self-management behavior.
Aims: This study evaluated the effectiveness of animated video-based education in improving diabetes self-management among patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Pekanbaru, Indonesia.
Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with intervention and control groups. A total of 200 participants were included, consisting of 100 participants in the intervention group and 100 participants in the control group. The intervention group received a 60-minute animated video-based education session, while the control group received no intervention. Data were collected before and after the intervention using questionnaires. Data were analyzed using paired t-tests, independent t-tests, and Cohen’s d.
Results: The results showed significant improvements in the intervention group in blood glucose management behavior (p<0.001; Cohen’s d=2.741), dietary patterns (p<0.001; Cohen’s d=3.506), and stress management (p<0.001; Cohen’s d=3.420). Independent t-test analysis also demonstrated significant differences in score changes between the intervention and control groups across all study variables (p<0.001), with very large effect sizes.
Conclusion: Animated video-based education was effective in improving blood glucose management behavior, dietary patterns, and stress management among patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
Carles CarlesAgrina Agrina Muhammad IrwanEliza FitriaBetty Nia RulenAgung Sutriyawan

https://ejournal.gomit.id/abdigermas/article/view/690

Background: Preterm birth, characterized as childbirth prior to 37 weeks of gestation, continues to pose a significant challenge in mother and child health due to the heightened susceptibility of preterm newborns to complications, including respiratory issues, hypothermia, infections, feeding difficulties, and developmental issues. Efficient post-discharge care is crucial to avert difficulties and hospital readmissions; nevertheless, numerous families possess insufficient knowledge and abilities to care for preterm newborns at home. Enhancing the capabilities of healthcare professionals and community health workers is essential to support families and maintain treatment continuity, thereby improving families’ ability to provide appropriate home care for preterm infants and reducing the risk of complications and readmissions.
Aims: This study sought to enhance the capabilities of health workers and community health cadres to assist families of preterm children through a Behavior Change Communication (BCC)-oriented mentorship strategy in Bandung Regency, Indonesia.
Methods: This community-oriented program employed a participatory capacity-building training methodology, engaging 69 participants, including 23 midwives and 46 community health workers from 23 primary health facilities. The program was delivered over three days, utilizing a blended learning strategy that integrated online lectures, workshops, discussions, simulations, role-playing, and skill-based practice stations. Knowledge enhancement was evaluated by pre-test and post-test assessments.
Results: The findings indicated a significant enhancement in participants' understanding. The percentage of cadres with adequate knowledge rose from 58.7% to 91.3%, while among health workers it increased from 65.2% to 91.3%. Knowledge scores enhanced in 89.1% of cadres and 87.0% of health workers.
Conclusion: The findings demonstrate that participatory training, which combines clinical care and behavior change communication, effectively enhances the capabilities of health workers and community cadres to support families in the home care of preterm newborns.
Mira MiraturrofiahQorinah Estiningtyas Sakilah Adnani Dwi AgustianYanyan MulyaniCitraNiknik NursifaHana NurhanifahIka KhairunnisaWenny DesmanaNenden Nurul AuliaDany Hilmanto
