https://ejournal.gomit.id/abdigermas/article/view/554

Breast milk plays a crucial role in infant growth and maternal health; however, some mothers experience insufficient production due to physiological, psychological, and nutritional factors. A promising alternative to address this issue is the use of local plants with galactagogue properties, which stimulate milk production. This community service activity aimed to support breastfeeding mothers through health education with a counseling method on the importance of breastfeeding, an explanation of the benefits of beluntas leaves (Pluchea indica), and a demonstration of their preparation by boiling. The results of this activity show that the majority of the 84 respondents (91.67%) felt the benefits of the counseling and demonstration on processing beluntas leaves. Evaluation results indicated that participants showed improved understanding of breastfeeding benefits and expressed interest in trying beluntas consumption at home as a natural method to increase milk supply. The integration of health education, scientific explanation, and practical demonstration effectively enhanced both knowledge and motivation among mothers. Therefore, the utilization of beluntas leaves has the potential to serve as a simple, applicable, and community-based intervention to promote increased breast milk production.
Iin Prima FitriahMardiani BebasariBunga MeilizayosaAthifa ZuharaniSalsabila Febriwandi

https://ejournal.gomit.id/abdigermas/article/view/643

Background of study: high prevalence of undernutrition and high prevalence of overnutrition are particularly prevalent among adolescent girls in Indonesia. This study aims to identify factors associated with the dietary quality of adolescent girls in Tasikmalaya City.

Methods: a cross-sectional design was used, involving 366 junior high school female students aged 13–15 years. Independent variables included parental occupation and education, family income, family size and type, physical activity, screen time, and pocket money. Data were collected using questionnaires, food recall forms, the Physical Activity Questionnaire (PAQ), stadiometers, and digital weighing scales. Data analysis included univariate (frequency), bivariate (Chi-Square test), and multivariate (logistic regression) methods. Data on respondent characteristics were collected and analyzed.

Result: the majority of parents, both mother and father, had low education levels (77.9%, and 78.8% respectively). Most mothers were non-working (74.0%), while nearly all fathers were employed (98.1%). Over 50% of families had incomes below the minimum wage. Family size was mostly large, with 51.1% in larger families. Most respondents lived in nuclear families (91.5%). Physical activity was mostly in low category (95.4%), screen time was high in the category (88.3%), and pocket money was relatively low (69.1%). Most respondents had poor dietary quality intake (90.7%). Chi-Square analysis indicated significant associations between dietary quality and father’s education, screen time, and pocket money. Logistic regression confirmed that these factors collectively influenced dietary quality.

Conclusion: These findings highlight the need for interventions targeting parental education, media exposure, and financial resources to improve adolescent dietary habits.
Gurdani YogisutantiLilik HidayantiFahmi Fuadah

https://ejournal.gomit.id/abdigermas/article/view/569

Background: Stunting is a manifestation of growth failure that begins in the womb until the child is two years old. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the prevalence of stunting increased from 144 million cases in 2020 to 149.2 million cases in 2021. In Sido Luhur village, in January 2024, there were 10 undernourished toddlers, and in May this number increased to 11, 6 of whom were still toddlers. Exclusive breastfeeding is one way to prevent stunting, as breast milk contains nutrients that are crucial for a child's growth and development. The perceived crisis of insufficient breast milk experienced by mothers during breastfeeding has become a rumor that prevents all babies from being breastfed until two years old. Comprehensive breastfeeding education is needed from pregnancy for mothers to strengthen their intentions and build confidence and efficacy in breastfeeding for two years. Objective: To develop partner villages through cadre empowerment activities to improve perceptions of breast milk sufficiency through Comprehensive Breastfeeding Education in Sidoluhur Village, Sukaraja District, Seluma Regency.Method: This community service program was conducted using the concept of empowering cadres and pregnant women in Sidoluhur Village. The activity began with coordination with the Sukaraja Sub-district Head, the Village Head, the Health Center leadership, and the village midwife. The activity began with a joint commitment, a pre-test of knowledge before the training, the provision of materials related to Comprehensive Breastfeeding Education, cadre training, a post-test after the training, followed by a follow-up plan for mentoring pregnant women, and monitoring and evaluation of the Community Service activities. Results: There was an increase in knowledge among all cadres and pregnant women after the pre-post test. All cadres and pregnant women understood breastfeeding success, including knowledge, correct breastfeeding steps, infant attachment, and breast milk sufficiency in Sidoluhur Village, Sukaraja District, Seluma Regency.
Rialike BurhannElly Wahyuni Renta Handika

https://ejournal.gomit.id/abdigermas/article/view/618

Nutrition problems among pregnant women and toddlers are key factors in preventing stunting. Animal protein plays a vital role in supporting growth, brain development, and immune function; however, its consumption in rural communities remains low. This community service activity was conducted from October 9–12, 2025, in Kadur Village, Rupat District, Bengkalis Regency. The program aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of pregnant women and mothers of toddlers in processing local supplementary food (PMT) based on animal protein. The methods included nutrition education, cooking demonstrations using local ingredients, and interactive discussions. The results showed significant knowledge improvement with 94,7% of 46 respondents scoring between 70-100. This activity has the potential for sustainability through the active role of posyandu cadres in supporting balanced nutrition practices in the community.

Muharni HarahapYola Humaroh
